Mortar Boy Legion
Before political tensions mounted to their present point and military conflict was inevitable, an elite officer of E.D.E.Ns Mechanized forces Colonel, Torrance Tyler founded the Mortar Boy Legion. Founded on the principles of creating the “Peoples Army” and that E.D.E.N must do more for its people, he set out to go where E.D.E.Ns already scattered forces could not adequately be deployed. Utilizing the aging expanders known as Mortar Boys the frontline fighting expander that’s been created by several divisions. Not meant as a rouge faction the Mortar Boy Legion would be a become of hope for colonized worlds that have been attacked by pirates, slavers and mercenaries as well as the Garamedri and Torva Hydax. As the Mortar Boy Legion found a home world to call there own Colony 7 also known as Mila, Colonel, Tyler assigned to various squads and ships to positions throughout the colonized worlds that were on the outskirts of human colonization. With the test run and victory over the Garamedri attack on planet Mila the Mortar Boy Legion secured a strong ally in the residents of the small world. As its new guardians the MBL would insure attacks from others will no longer occur. New manufacturing stations were built and began to mass produce the various Mortar Boys but without the flaws of the originals. Also the M.B.Ls new Flagship the Vengeance was also commissioned from Mila. Although the MBL is a new and slightly independent and virtually unknown faction, it has actually become its own division of E.D.E.N. The government of Mila had submitted an official petition to become an official division of E.D.E.N as the MBL with Colonel, Tyler being it’s head and be the Councilman Delegate of their division.
Approximately 125,000 Mortar Boys of various types have been built on Mila that make up the Mortar Boy Legion. New weapons systems, armor and internal systems have been incorporated into the newly built as well as the older models that were originally given to Colonel, Tyler by Head Councilman Nixon, who originally planned to use them for the same reasons but could not find the courage to do what was necessary to fulfill this task. The Mortar Boy Legion often divides its troops into smaller companies, platoons and squads for specific coordinated operations. There are currently four models of Mortar Boys with more designs in the works. The MBL is gaining popularity with the Outlining systems and E.D.E.N and becoming a serious threat to several pirate factions. The MBL is positioning to becoming a key player in E.D.E.N and its war. The Mortar Boy Legion grows larger and more diverse as time goes on.

Mila’s a small planet with what has been regarded as not much to offer but basic living, with not many technological advances. It meets the minimum requirements for decent living for some and possible capital gain for others. Mila is a planet that has been plagued by theft, slavers, pirates and now the Raxon War has also reached its steps. With the planet originally not being regarded to have much as far as minerals or usable alloys E.D.E.N never really harvested anything from the planet. However in recent years a new alloy was discovered there and has enriched properties that can aid in power and energy absorption. Another alloy was discovered that is stronger than Titanium 3. These new alloys have aided in the new economy making Mila an even greater asset.

Characters of Mortar Boy Legion
Colonel, Torrance Tyler
Colonel, Tyler rose through the ranks as an ace expander pilot, primarily that of the Mortar Boy Series 1, a design in which his father Chief Expander Engineer, Roderic Tyler salvaged and brought back. The MB S-1 had became the frontline assault expander for E.D.E.N so much so that other divisions adopted its base design and modified and improved upon it. As time went on Colonel, Tyler stregically moved himself to command in hopes to aide E.D.E.N in a different way. Knowing E.D.E.Ns forces are being starched thin by the onslaughts of the Torva Hydax and Garamedri he wanted to create a true people’s army to help the colonies and worlds that aren’t division specific and don’t have the support or firepower the defend themselves from pirates let alone the Garamedri and Torva Hydax forces. After lengthy discussions with his father and friends he had his plans confirmed. His father gave him the trump sword of information needed in order to not only form his own division but begin with an inventory of Mortar Boy series 1 through 4. He prefers the MB S-1 and has a distinctive black pattern on it he prefers to get into the fight versus commanding an delegating from the bridge of a ship.
Major, Taylor Phillips
Best friends and mentor to Colonel, Torrance Tyler, Major, Taylor Phillips is a well known and respected commander. He left his commission and abandoned the division Crimson Star after a mission he believes was one set to betray E.D.E.N. Hearing whispers of conspiracy’s of Crimson Star planning a coup and a betrayal of his own division towards him, he disappeared and reunited with his old friend and helped him form the Mortar Boy Legion.

Power Armors and Expanders
Weapon Armor System (W.A.S)
The Mortar Boy Series 1 Weapon Armor System (W.A.S) was created by the Mortar Boy Legion on Mila. Designed to give the MB S-1 more armor and firepower for strategic missions and heavy duration combat strikes. The armor is outfitted with an array of firepower similar and somewhat greater than the MB Series 3 & 4. The armor features variable missiles launchers on the shoulders, forearms, hips and legs as well as two heavy shoulder cannons an Ion Cannon and a Gatling Rocket Cannon. To top it off a Hyper Round Rifle was created the HRR-17. A powerful rifle that fires accelerated rounds as well as plasma grenades. Each arm is also equipped with shields that fire twin mini plasma cannons.
Mortar Girl Power Armor
The Mortar Girl Power Armor is a highly mobile, power boosting, battle suit which was specially developed for female combatants. The Female battle Suit is one the best power armors ever designed. It has increased strength so it can easily wield its Super Sniper Particle Beam Rifle (SS-PBR-7) which is taller than the expander itself. The Mortar Girl’s was inspired by the larger expander known as the Mortar Boy. The Mortar Girl PA has several built in weapon systems from lasers to mini missiles. This suit was built for combat. It’s fast and highly maneuverable. Its powerful legs enable it to leap 30ft and can run at 45mph without tiring the wearer. The Mortar Girl PA can’t fly but does have thrusters built into the legs for assisted leaps.
Mortar Boy S 1
Alloys on Luna created the Mortar Boy Expander model. This Expander exceeded many standpoints and was more agile than any previous Expander models. The orders to mass-produce it at many other planet station locations came quickly after its test run. It was the first humanoid combat Expander to have and carry a hand held weapon that was designed specifically for it. The GG-183 Gatling Gun Pod which carried 3000 uranium tipped rounds per clip and was equipped with two spare clips in the legs. These would be needed for maximum penetration, and target kill effectiveness, as well as long duration combat situations. The Mortar Boy also packs a small compliment of mini missiles for ranged attacks.
Mortar Boy S 2
Crimson Star released its own Mortar Boy Series 2. This was the first Expander to have flight capabilities. It could fly in the atmosphere and space, and had incredible speeds and maneuverability in both. It still retained most of the same basic features with slight changes here and there in appearance of the original Mortar Boy. Now carrying more armor, missiles, and also the SH-1 Pulsar Energy Rifle. This Expander reached the top ten of deadly. Once a small Torva Hydax Fleet of five scout ships destroyed Asteroid Outpost Zeus. A detachment of Fireflies was sent out to intercept and neutralize that fleet. They did it with only two casualties and one badly damaged. The Firefly has done more than its share to prove its worth to E.D.E.N. Fireflies were at first reserved for many high ranking officers and ace pilots, but the need for more outweighed that. They would be mostly deployed in space since that is where they have been most effective. In atmospheric conditions they are still well maneuverable but weight drag plays its part here and there. Fireflies are still in production by Crimson Star. They are the all time countermeasure Expander units of E.D.E.N.
Mortar Boy S 3
Indigo Blue released its own version of a series 3 Mortar Boy aka the Dragonfly. This Expander has more armor than its previous predecessors. It also carries a compliment of deadlier weapons, such as rockets and uranium rounds. The Dragonfly too could fly in atmospheric conditions but not as fast and in space. Although it too suffered from weight drag, its armor gave it much more protection. The trade off is well worth it. Over ten thousand have been produced production since the war began but has since then been slowed to ten percent. They are still in service, but steadily declining as newer designs begin to be in the works.
Mortar Boy S 4
The Mortar Boy Series 4, Sandstorm developed by Armor Tide, is one most heavily armored and versatile of the Mortar Boy series. This impressive expander’s designed to function in extreme heat and desert conditions as well as all environments including outer space, underwater, and even possesses limited flight capabilities. Directional jets are built into both legs and feet for mobility in space and underwater. The MB S4 can perform jet boosted leaps that will send it hurling 300 feet upward or lengthwise and or short periods of flight, lasting 5 minutes maximum altitude, 150ft after that the boosters must be allowed to cool down for at least one twenty minutes or they can burn out completely this only applies in atmosphere. The Mortar Boy S-4 heavy armor adds additional protection to its forearm cannons, this means that energy beams and projectiles can be parried/blocked with the forearm. The legs are specially armored so that they function just shields and the main body is extra protected, it can take more pounding before having to tap out of a fight. The weapons systems of the Mortar Boy S-4 are matched by its heavy armor, they lay waste to enemies on the battlefield.
Mortar Boy Power Armor
The Mortar Boy Power Armor resembles the Mortar Boy S-1 full sized expander in many ways and in some ways in appearance more advanced. The MB PA was actually built as a model to possibly replace or take the MB S-1 into a different direction of production. This spawned other divisions into creating their own versions of Mortar Boys. Designed to be the "Grunt" of Power Armors this design sacrificed some it’s larger versions larger counterpart’s fabled mobility for vast increases in armor and heavy weaponry capabilities. The MB-PA was set to become the standard front-line fighting power armor for E.D.E.Ns many divisions, which was used either as support forces for Mortar Boys, other larger expanders or independent heavy infantry platoons. The MB-PA is designed for the close assault and medium ranged ground combat. Unfortunately the MB-PA was never made into vast numbers due to over-heating and the armor left little room for the pilots from the riggers of combat had many pilots maxing out their insurance and some harmed more so in training than in actual combat defects. Once the design teams of Alloys deemed it would be to costly to fix or revamp they were barred from producing any more MB-PA’s due to concerns over pilot injuries and more defects that seemed to take some time to fix in the design.
Ships & Stations
Vengeance
The Vengeance is the newest ship of E.D.E.Ns forces albeit not designed specifically by or for E.D.E.N. The Vengeance was created specifically for the Mortar Boy Legion as their flagship. This ship incorporates Serantian tech and designs. It was built on Mila it has performed well as the flagship of the Mortar Boy Legion’s growing fleet. The actual original ship and design were scrapped after it was sabotaged and destroyed during construction. The redesign fixed many issues that plagued the original design. The Vengeance has carrier as well as destroyer capabilities making it an ideal command ship. Using Serantian Tech and armor its weapons are very powerful as well as its armored hull. The Vengeance is also a fast and highly maneuverable ship for its size. Capable of lasting in a fight against many and delivering devastating damage.
